Darfur is another word for genocide. It is a horrible legacy of our so called modern society.
In Ola’s painting the colors of Sudan are used to show the genocidal fire and smoke set against and vibrating against the idyllic green pastoral African savanna. Beneath the white are the soles of hundreds of thousands of people that were trapped and died. They were the ones that could not escape over the boarder to Chad. And what of the ones still left behind?
